Mrs Pham Van Cong, Chairman of the Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS), said, In the scenario that there will be more complicated developements of Covid-19, economics, international social situation, general advocacy of Executive Committee - Standing Committe of VINACAS is: continue to take action towards realising the goal: “maintain quantity, increase quality, increase price” in production, business, import-export cashew in 2021 and the following years.

Forecast on cashew export market in 2021, VINACAS Chairman said: We evaluate that the first 6 months of 2021 will still be difficult. So, by the end of this year, we still continue to have meeting, analyze, evaluate the situation but the preliminacy policy is encourage businesses securely continue to product and export.

‘In the second half of 2021, The pandemic situation all over the world can be controlled, therefore, the export will be more easier. In recent, Some big businesses already have orders for the first quater of 2021. I hope 2021 will be a successfull year for cashew industry.’ Mr. Pham Van Cong expects

Also according to VINACAS Chairman, about cashew prices and raw materials, there wont be much change in 2021. Stable quantity will be favorable for processing and exporting businesses. Therefore, in 2021, we continue to advocate maintaining the same quantity, increasing quality, and adjusting prices to a higher direction. Regarding science and technology in the cashew industry, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khoi, Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Department of Vinacas, said that currently most of the cashew processing factories in Vietnam are mechanized. However, the level of mechanization is not synchronized and the efficiency is not high. Therefore, to maintain advantages, increase competitiveness, avoid moving production to countries with abundant raw materials, cashew processing factories in Vietnam need to orient and deploy necessary solutions in science and technology. In particular, it is necessary to focus on improving the quality and ensuring ATSVTP in some stages such as cutting (high oil contamination rate), moisture treated ... Otherwise, it will affect the brand of cashew production in Viet Nam. Besides, Vietnamese cashew businesses need to build Vietnamese cashew brand identity, master technology, improve management ability, and create a competitive advantage in cashew production and processing compared to other countries, …

One really important thing is the factories should gradually shift from raw processing to deep processing to increase the value of products as well as the brand value of Vietnamese cashew. In terms of machinery and equipment, at present, domestic machine manufacturing units can completely supply the required equipment for deep processing factories.

To support cashew businesses, Mr. Pham Van Cong said, in the coming time, VINACAS will promote the mechanisms and policies of Central to businesses, and update domestic and international information for Businesses to grasp news more deeply through the association's periodical newsletter. Especially when there is hot news, the association will continuously update to inform businesses. Businesses will look up more information from other sources, thereby reviewing the actual situation and conditions of their businesses and making suitable business decisions from time to time.
In addition, VINACAS has participated in all cashew organizations in the world such as the Global Cashew Council (GCC), World Dry Fruit Council (INC) ... The distribution system of businesses is spread over from America, Europe to nearly 100 countries. VINACAS will coordinate with businesses to analyze domestic and international markets, to draw conclusions on suitable directions for each period.
