World pepper price today 7/15

In the world market,  today's pepper price was little changed on  July 15  , but it was still negatively affected by the rising USD.

Specifically, this morning, the Dollar Index increased by 0.97%, reaching 109 points. According to analysts, the US published the highest inflation rate in 40 years, helping the greenback stand at a high level.

Earlier, on July 13, the US Department of Labor announced that the consumer price index (CPI) of this country in June increased by 9.1% over the same period last year. This is the highest level of inflation in the US in more than 40 years and much higher than the 8.6% increase recorded in May.

In addition, this inflation figure is also higher than the forecast of 8.8% that economists gave earlier. This confirms that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will soon raise interest rates to control inflation.

The rising dollar will continue to increase, pushing down the local currencies of exporting countries, which will negatively affect the commodity market in general and pepper prices in particular.

Thus, today's pepper price on July 15, 2022 in the world market is flat compared to yesterday.

Currently, most commodity market prices have temporarily slowed down due to speculation about capital withdrawal because of concerns about risks will increase before the Fed's July monetary policy meeting.
